2016-2017 season has been a tragic season for Leyton Orient, London’s second oldest football club. The club are on the verge of bankruptcy due to 3 years of financial mismanagement and gross negligence by Orient’s current owner. Back in 2014 the O’s narrowly missed out on promotion to the Championship losing on penalties in the League One Play-Off Final at Wembley, but have now lost their 112 year league status after being relegated from League Two, a second relegation in three seasons.
In response to this total fiasco (and complete lack of support from the English Football League) The Leyton Orient Fans’ Trust have been campaigning to drum up awareness and support to help save the club from extinction by setting up a Regeneration Fund to ultimately help the club find new owners.
Here’s some content that I created with Make It Red and Simon Kirkham for L.O.F.T. to share around on Facebook.
