We share all kinds of stuff
and nonsense.
Here’s a few of my frisky favourites.

Prior to the pandemic’s seismic death toll, 2016 seemed to be a year marred by the deaths of a bizarrely high number of truly amazing cultural iconic. Legends such as Alan Rickman, Mohammed Ali, Harper Lee, Johan Cruyff, Sir George Martin, Prince, Carrie Fisher and David Bowie all passed away that year.

So as a homage I helped Make It Red make an online advent calendar called Morbid Baubles to commemorate these beloved figures. Each day during December, tweets & Facebook posts guided followers to that day’s Bauble tribute.

Calendar Sausage was an illustrative project that delved into the random world of theme days. Fun static and animated content was created for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Pinterest.

Fuelling weekly content for Make It Red’s social channels, the project ran for almost 3 years.

Make It Red’s Review of the Decade

Role:
Creative Director

To mark the auspicious occasion of seeing in a new decade I worked up a series of illustrations for Make It Red depicting amusing, nostalgic and mildly absurd highlights of the Teensies.

The content was then packaged up and shipped out as posts and stories on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. If nothing else it helped get my ducks in a row before watching Big Fat Quiz of The Decade.

GE2017

Creative Director

It’s been a good couple of decades now where pretty much a third of the UK either aren’t registered to vote, or just don’t see the point in voting. Collectively at Make It Red we felt a civic responsibility to engage with prospective voters prior to GE2017 about the importance of voting. So I worked on some friendly propaganda to help instigate conversations on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

For £20 of Facebook ads we reached 18,000 potential voters, picking up 400 likes, 250 shares and a few verbal bruises in the 24 hours before the polls opened.

Eye-opening to see what twenty quid can do!

Creative Director

Stuff That! was an award-winning promotional online taxidermy game where players could assemble and Frankenstein-up bespoke creatures to share with colleagues, friends and family.

All the beautiful beastly creations were sharable to Facebook and twitter. And we also chopped up some sponsored ads to help aid its circulation on Instagram.

I LOVE General Elections! I literally get overwhelmed with excitement at the prospect of change and the world becoming a better place. It’s always such a hopeful time.

Here’s a set of typographic posts and stories that I produced with my highly esteemed copywriting pal, Simon Kirkham, in the build-up to General Election 2019.
